Is River Cruising on Your Bucket List?

If you love to experience the cultures of other countries, are a foodie, and enjoy history & architecture, then you’re going to love river cruising,

One of the first questions I’m always asked when talking about river cruising is, “which European river is your favortie?”. This is a tough question for me to answer. Not because I don’t know which river is my favorite, it’s because my favorite river may not be theirs. The truth is, it depends on a destination that holds a particular interest to you. For example:

  • If you are interested in seeing medieval Europe’s fairytale castles and soaring fortresses then the Rhine River might be perfect for you.

  • If you want to experience romantic cities, foodie havens & artistic experiences, then look no further than France’s Rhône River.

  • Now if you’re like me and you enjoy awe-inspiring architecture, breathtaking landscapes and culinary delights, then you’ll want to consider sailing down the Danube River, which by-the-way happens to be the most popular river to sail.

River cruising isn’t just limited to Europe either. Here’s are a few other rivers that might be right for you:

  • Mykong River - This is on my bucket list. Every friend and colleague who has experienced this river cruise tells me it’s life changing, and that I have to do it. Imagine, being transported back in time to another era, where the rhythms of the countryside move at a slower pace and allow for a fascinating glimpse into a traditional way of life. I have no doubt that this river cruise experience will leave a lasting impression.

  • The Nile River - This is a popular cruise for 2022/2023. On this river cruise you’ll discover the ancient civilization of Egypt. There’s nothing more exciting then those high school history lessons coming to life. You’ll get to explore ancient wonders, such as the Temple of Luxor and the mystifying Valley of the Kings and Queens. Plus, you can come face-to-face with the last survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Great Sphinx and the three Pyramids of Giza. Can you say Unforgettable!

  • The Mississippi River - Did you know that the Mississippi River stretches 2,350 miles down the United States? Well, for those who want to be immersed in American history and culture, this river cruise would be prefect!

As you can see, the waterways of our world are vast, and ready for us to explore.

River Cruising is peaceful, scenic and intimate, and once you’ve taken your first river cruise you’re going to be addicted. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
